What are the legal forms of companies recognized in DR Congo?

Pursuant to the provisions of the Uniform Act of OHADA relating to the law of Commercial Companies and Economic Interest Groupings (GIE), the legal forms of companies in force in the Democratic Republic of Congo are as follows:

  • The sole proprietorship (or establishment);
  • The Limited Liability Company (S.A.R.L);
  • The Société Anonyme (S.A);
  • The Simplified Joint Stock Company (S.A.S.);
  • The Company in Collective Name (S.N.C);
  • The Simple Limited Partnership (S.C.S);
  • The Economic Interest Grouping (E.I.G).

The Fédération des Entreprises du Congo (FEC) is both the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the main employers’ organization of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
