Dear Compatriots,
On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, DECOC Executive Committee had the privilege of meeting with His Excellency Mr. Atoki Ileka Christian, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to South Korea.
The meeting facilitated a fruitful discussion centered on the following key points:
- Organizing a conference to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 29, 2025.
- A proposed collaboration between the DECOC and the Government of the Republic.
- The future of Congolese students in South Korea after completing their studies.
Regarding International Women’s Day, His Excellency assured us of his support and commitment to ensuring the success of this event. A detailed list of concrete actions to be undertaken has been established. We extend our gratitude to His Excellency on behalf of all DECOC members.
His Excellency warmly welcomed our proposal for a partnership with the government, emphasizing the importance of leveraging opportunities provided by South Korea to train Congolese civil servants. This partnership would encompass preparation, skill enhancement, and post-training monitoring of Congolese professionals in South Korea. Clear directives for the implementation of this initiative were provided during the meeting.
What happens to Congolese students after they graduate in South Korea? In response to this question, our Embassy has expressed its willingness to assist graduates based on their fields of expertise and career aspirations. To facilitate this process, we kindly request that you update your relevant information using the attached form and contact the Executive Committee for further assistance.
Sincerely,
The Executive Committee
